GCSE & A Levels

GCSE Level

It is crucial that the students are academically confident at this fundamental stage of their school life. Unfortunately, many students at this stage will have some fundamental and unresolved problems in their learning which can impede their success at GCSE level. At Study Buddies, our individualized teaching approach is designed to resolve any uncertainties students may have a particular topic or subject area while providing intense revision and mock exams to prepare them for GCSE.

Our GCSE Programme encourages students to understand the theoretical and practical concepts in each subject in order to be able to adequately apply their knowledge in exams.

Class sizes are small, averaging just four students per class to ensure that each student receives sufficient, individualized attention from our Tutors in order to maximize learning. One to one tuition can also be arranged upon request. An initial assessment is carried out in order to better understand each student’s specific needs and monitor ongoing progress.

A Level Tuition

Our A-Level Programme is tailor made to meet individual student needs at both AS and A level. Many of our students request private one to one tuition. However, small group classes are also available for Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, Biology and English.

Our students are encouraged to strive for the highest possible outcome in their exams. Our Revision and “Booster” sessions make continual reference to past papers, examiners’ reports and model answers, providing detailed information on the requirements of each core subject. Past papers completed under timed conditions build confidence and time management. Students who enroll with us at Study Buddies get the benefit of years’ of education industry experience, and many of our Tutors have considerable experience as exam moderators and invigilators.

UCAS Support

We provide UCAS advice to students who are struggling to understand the UCAS process. We can provide guidance in writing a personal statement and choosing a suitable university depending on the predicted grades and subject requirements. While many students think of UCAS at A Level, we advise to plan ahead from AS or even at GCSE to improve a student’s profile.
